Understanding DDoS protection on your hosting

How Cloudflare DDoS protection works and what to do if you're under attack.

DDoS protection

All Zebra Hosting Cloud plans include DDoS protection via Cloudflare. Here's how it works.

How Cloudflare protects your site

When your domain uses our nameservers, all traffic passes through Cloudflare's network first. Cloudflare automatically detects and absorbs DDoS attacks before they reach your server.

Types of attacks mitigated

  • Layer 3/4 attacks (UDP floods, SYN floods) — handled automatically
  • Layer 7 attacks (HTTP floods) — Cloudflare's WAF blocks these
  • Bot traffic — Cloudflare identifies and challenges suspicious bots

Under attack mode

If your site is currently under attack, enable Under Attack Mode in Cloudflare:

  1. Log in to Cloudflare Dashboard
  2. Go to Security → Settings
  3. Set Security Level to Under Attack
  4. This shows a 5-second JavaScript challenge to all visitors
If your site is experiencing an ongoing attack, open a support ticket immediately. Our team can apply additional firewall rules at the server level.
