Configuring spam filtering for your mailbox

Enable SpamAssassin, create whitelist/blacklist rules, and keep your inbox clean.

Spam filtering in Plesk

Plesk includes SpamAssassin, a powerful spam filtering tool that scans incoming emails and marks or discards spam automatically.

Enabling spam filtering

  1. In Plesk, go to Mail
  2. Click on your email account
  3. Go to the Spam Filter tab
  4. Check Switch on spam filtering for this email address
  5. Set sensitivity (the default score of 7 works for most users)
  6. Choose action: mark as spam (adds [SPAM] to subject) or move to Spam folder
  7. Click OK

Whitelist and blacklist

To always allow emails from a specific sender, add their address to the Whitelist. To always block, add to the Blacklist.

Virus scanning

On 50 GB and 250 GB mailbox plans, virus scanning is included. Enable it in Plesk → Mail → account → Antivirus tab.
